Android/FakePlayer.A is a trojan which sends SMS messages to preset numbers.

This malware requires that the user intentionally install it upon the device.  As always, users should never install unknown or un-trusted software.  This is especially true for illegal software, such as cracked application -- they are a favorite vector for malware infection.

Android/FakePlayer.A is distributed as an apk file named "RU.apk". It pretends to be a movie player.

Android/FakePlayer.A does not actually play moviesand maintains a small database to trace whether it has sent SMS messages.

If the database exists, Android/FakePlayer.A will not send SMS messages again, otherwise, it will keep trying to send SMS messages.
